KT71 Evaluation Our brand new KT71 POP software has the ability to edit and enter certificate information on a PC., laptop or handheld. This makes the software truly versatile in that you are never restricted as to where you can amend data In order to simplify the use of the new PC facilities, the menus and screens on the PC and handheld are very similar. This makes it really quick and easy to use the system. If you are interested in running the software on either a laptop or a Palm you can download the evaluation version of the program and either install on a PC or a PC and a Palm depending on how you wish to carryout testing. During the installation of the program a Serial Number will be requested: enter EVALUATION in capitals. You will also be asked for a Product Code: enter 4919-62384 An evaluation copy of the software will run for 30 days. It may be converted to a live version on request. For those who intend to run the program on the laptop they can download and install the evaluation copy to the laptop or PC. All the necessary input, editing and printing features are available so it is not necessary to purchase a Palm unless you want more compact data collection. For those who have a Palm handheld, the same evaluation software can be downloaded and after installing the PC module you can access the feature which allows the software to be installed on a handheld. The software can be converted to a live version at any time by the entry of unlock codes provided by tap-it software over the phone: no data is lost by this conversion. Electrical Inspector Evaluation Issue 7 of the software added the ability to edit and enter certificate information on the PC. In order to simplify the use of the new PC facilities, the menus and screens mimic those on the handheld. This means that a user familiar with Palm operations is immediately comfortable with the new PC program. Several people have telephoned to commend this approach. A side effect of the new arrangements is that a potential user without a Palm handheld can download the evaluation version of the program and run it on a PC. He will then see exactly how the program appears on a Palm handheld. A potential user with a Palm - that is a handheld which runs the Palm Operating System - can download the evaluation copy and install the program on his Palm. When installing the evaluation program you will be prompted for a Serial Number: enter EVALUATION in capitals. You will also be asked for a Product Code: enter 5139-24437. That code is for the BS7671 edition of the program: the other editions are similar but reflect the particular requirements of the appropriate regulatory body. POP (PAT testing) Evaluation The evaluation of the POP software is really only suitable for those who have Palm OS handhelds because the PC module only contains facilities for printing and housekeeping. The evaluation program can be loaded on the Palm and it will run, fully featured, for 30 days. A 7-day loan can be arranged of a Palm which contains a copy of POP. See below for further information. There is no PC based companion module. There is no facility to add PPM to the Palm loan scheme. The program will allow no more than 5 items of plant to be set up.
