To run this software it will be necessary to have a handheld running the Palm Operating System (PalmOS). In addition to the handhelds manufactured by Palm Inc - 30 million of which have been sold world-wide - there is also the Meazura rugged Palm and Clie handhelds from Sony.

PLEASE NOTE THAT this program is only suitable for handhelds running the Palm OS operating system, not a version of Windows

PLEASE ALSO NOTE that, by design, the program does not accept data downloaded from those test instruments on the market which have a storage capability. The user writes test results directly into the handheld. As soon as the last item of data has been entered into the handheld the job is complete - no shuffling of incomplete data received on download from the tester, matching test numbers with the items being tested and remembering which insulation test was carried out etc

Kewtech have recently released their latest Multi-function tester, the KT64. Electrical Inspector is admirably suited to use with the KT64 because it makes recording data from the KT64 as quick and easy as possible for all users - contractors and in-house electricians alike. Once the test data is captured in the Palm handheld, the test certificates can be printed in a matter of minutes. Electrical Inspector provides professionally presented certificates in the three major formats as well as those specified by the NICEIC. By purchasing a test instrument without memory, the saving will more than cover the cost of a handheld AND Electrical Inspector.

FINALLY We do not charge for telehone support. The only additional charges, apart from optional extras, will be made when the Regilations change or the format of the certificates is amended.

The last update charge was for Amendment 2, in 2004. That cost the princely sum of £50 plus VAT!
For each Edition of Electrical Inspector, a drop-down lists the three deals offered - software alone, software with a Palm Tungstem E2 and software with a Palm T|X. Deals which include a Palm are complete in all respects and are 'ready to go'.

On completion of this sales transaction, a screen will be displayed allowing the software to be downloaded. Where a sale is for a Palm and software, the Palm will be sent by tap-it by Royal Mail Special Delivery for next-day delivery between 9 am and 1 pm.

Electrical Inspector Software Licence for Additional Palm
On delivery the software is licenced for one handheld. If additional handhelds are to be used, a small charge is made for the software licence for each additional handheld.

If this transaction is for more than one additional licence, the quantity can be specified on the confirmation page.

When the transaction has been fully processed, the additional licences are enabled by following these steps ...

Run Electrical Inspector on the PC
Select the System Management option from the Main Menu
Select the Option Management option from that menu
Note the two codes displayed
Email with these two numbers, the current number of handhelds supported and the number of this Order. If email is not available, please telephone with this information and a contact telephone number.

Tap-it sales staff will then confirm that the order has been satisfactorily processed and will email/phone back with two numbers which must be entered in Unlock Codes 1 and 2 on the Option Management screen and the OK button clicked.

To check that the update has been correctly applied, run Electrical Inspector on the PC and select the Handheld User Details on the Handheld Management menu. Confirm that the correct number of handhelds is shown at the top of the screen.
